Biography
At the age of twelve, I already said: “ When I grow up, I will become a vet, a professional rider, a physiotherapist, or a teacher”. Nowadays I’m almost thirty and as an equine physiotherapist and -chiropractor, I combined all of my interests.
I did my study at the International Academy of Physiotherapy ‘Thim van der Laan’ in Utrecht, the Netherlands. After four years I passed with credit on my practical exam.
I started working as a (human) physiotherapist in a healthcentre in Schoonhoven, the Netherlands. I worked here for four years and learned a lot about all kind of injuries and sportsmedicine. In these days I also started my specialism-study Animal Physiotherapy in Barneveld, the Netherlands. After two years I passed with credit on my practical exams again and started my own practice for dogs and horses.
At the end of 2005 I participated on the International course 'Focus on the Equine Spine', wich is only for vets and animal physiotherapists. In 2007 I passed with credit on my advanced course practical exams, and got the title equine chiropractor.
My specialism is equine sportsmedicine, wich can be devided in prevention and rehabilitation.
I have good cooperation with several equine clinics and individual vets. Please contact me for references.
